Two police personnel and a 12-year-old boy were killed after unidentified individuals opened fire on a police van parked near Korangi's Darul Uloom in Karachi on Friday.
Superintendent Police (SP) Landhi Arif Aslam confirmed that an Awami Colony Police mobile was the target of the attack.
The dead personnel have been identified as Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Qamar Din and Constable Babar Ali. The identity of the boy is still not known.
Police Constable Amjad, and passerby Abid, 15, were also injured in the incident.
