    At least three, including woman and children were killed and several feared injured after a three-storey building in Liaquatabad number 9 collapsed in the wee hours of Tuesday.

    Up to four injured residents have been rescued so far from under the rubble and shifted to nearby hospitals.

    Rangers, ambulances as well as rescue teams are present on the site.

    According to rescue officials, several residents of the building may be stuck under the rubble.

    Machinery is required to rescue people from under the debris, they added.

    An eye witness told that at least twenty residents were currently living in the building.

    Rain caused the weak building to deteriorate, bricks had been falling off since the last couple days, he added.

    Deputy Mayor Arshad Vohra present on the location, clarified that heavy machinery is not being employed, due to the added risk of further damage and casualties.
