  • Four Rangers personnel injured in Karachi's Urdu Bazaar area after encounter

    Four Rangers personnel were injured in a grenade attack and firing during an encounter between the paramilitary force and suspects in the Urdu Bazaar area of Karachi on Monday.

    Two passersby, including a teenager, were also injured.

    The paramilitary force conducted a targeted raid on an alleged hideout of ‘terrorists’ in an apartment located on Muqaddas Street in the Urdu Bazaar area.

    The suspects lobbed two hand grenades which injured two soldiers, said the Rangers spokesperson.

    However, police officials said that four Rangers personnel, one shopkeeper and one teenager were hurt in the grenade attacks and firing between the security personnel and the suspects.

    Preedy SHO, Aurangzeb Khattak, told media that the Rangers conducted raid at the place on information about presence of suspects when they came under attack.

    As a result, four Rangers personnel and two passersby were injured.

    The area has been cordoned off and the operation was ongoing.
