Earlier this week, the Sindh High Court had suspended a notification issued by the Sindh government for the removal of the IGP.

The provincial government had sent Khawaja packing after appointing Majeed, a Grade-21 police officer already working in the province.

The SHC had suspended Majeed's 'promotion' as acting IGP, as well.
