  • No judge authorized to give verdicts of 'choice': CJP

    Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), Saqib Nisar has said on Friday that no judge is authorized to give verdicts of his choice and supremacy of the constitution is paramount.

    The Chief Justice addressed a ceremony of Supreme Court (SC) Bar Association in Sindh’s metropolis tonight.

    He cited Article 4 of the Constitution of Pakistan and said that the all judges are liable to give verdicts in accordance with the law and personal choices are nowhere to be considered.

    The Chief Justice asserted that issues faced by lawyers community would be addressed and that provision of facilities to bars is an obligation that they are answerable about.

    CJP Nisar further said that litigants face issues over delay in verdicts.

    Justice Saqib Nisar arrived in Karachi earlier this week and paid a visit to mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muahmmad Ali Jinnah.
