Governor Sindh Justice (retd) was on Sunday evening admitted to a private hospital in a critical condition.

The governor reportedly suffered severe breathing problems after which he was rushed to a private hospital in Clifton.

He was shifted to the intensive care unit (ICU) where doctors will monitor him for the next 24 hours.

Although there is no official statement, doctors have admitted him and have conducted several tests.

Due to the weak health of the provincial governor, he is expected to stay there for a few days.

Governor House Spokesman said that Governor Siddiqui was admitted after suffering a chest infection, and will be in hospital for one day.

He said the the governor’s condition has improved and is out of danger.

Saeed-uz-Zaman Siddiqui had on Friday taken oath as the 30th Governor of Sindh replacing Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ibad who held the position for over fourteen years.

The veteran jurist has held top judicial offices including the Chief Justice of Pakistan and had been a former presidential candidate.

However, there were doubts raised over the health of the frail governor and whether he would be able to handle the responsibilities. A petition had also been filed in the Lahore High Court over the appointment.
