    A month after his suspension, the Sindh government has reinstated Rao Anwar as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP). A notification in this regard will be issued soon.

    On September 16, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah had suspended Anwar for arresting Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Khawaja Izharul Hasan without “taking the government into confidence”.

    Khawaja Izhar was released few hours after his arrest.

    On September 19, Rao Anwar challenged the decision in the Sindh High Court, maintaining that the raid was conducted in accordance with the law.

    The same day Javed Akbar Riaz was appointed Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Malir.
