  • Sindh IG for early compensation of benefits to heirs of martyrs

    The Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) AD Khawaja has directed that the cases pertaining to the compensation and other benefits to the heirs of martyr police or those died in line of duty, be expedited.

    He was presiding over a meeting on Saturday at the Central Police Office (CPO). The meeting reviewed in detail the measures regarding the welfare of police. The AIG Welfare was appointed as the focal person for inking Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with reputed private hospitals aimed at provision of best possible treatment to police officers and jawans who have sustained injuries during fight against crimes.

    Khawaja directed that the compensation cases of the heirs of martyr policemen and those who die in line of duty should be expedited and that the entire process as per law and should be made easier in this regard. He also called for improving matters such as education of the children of policemen and scholarship to talented ones as well as quality medical facilities and grant of marriage. He also directed to ensure education, medical treatment and other facilities to children of policemen.

    The IGP also called for early processing of issues such as gratuity, GP Fund, insurance, pension and other benefits. He further instructed that that the receipt and payment of driving licence fee should be through bank and there should be separate account for this purpose.

    The IGP directed that the functioning of the police welfare branch should be improved and made effective. DIG Finance Sultan Ali Khawaja, DIG Headquarters Zulfiqar Lark, DIG Training Iqbal Dara, AIG Administration, CPO and other officers attended the meeting.
