Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Ismail said that he was attacked by Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM's) workers in Azizabad.

Ismail said that he went to Jinnah Ground to make arrangements for his party’s upcoming political gathering on April 19.

"Shortly after our arrival, MQM's goons carrying sticks reached Jinnah Ground, smashed my car and beat up our workers," he said. Ismail said that some of his workers were wounded in the attack.

“We will break the shackles of fear in Karachi and not be deterred by MQM’s goons." "We want to tell the people of Karachi that MQM is a wrong number," Ismail said.

Addressing a press conference, Ismail said that he would go to Azizabad on daily basis despite the attack.

“I am also the son of this soil. I was born in Karachi,” he said, announcing that he would lodge an FIR against the assault. "Our leader, Imran Khan, has not taught us to be scared. I urge MQM to control its supporters."
