During a session of the Sindh Assembly on Friday, a lawmaker of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) said the time had come for a separate province for 'Mohajirs'.
"The Urdu-speaking people of Sindh are subject to discrimination therefore we demand a separate province for them," MQM MPA Kamran Akhter said on the floor of the assembly. Akhter alleged that merit was not the criteria during the examination conducted for the Sindh Public Service Commission, adding that at least 8,000 students had dropped out as a result of the Centralised Admission Policy.
