  • Pakistan People's Party completes preparations for Karachi rally

    Amid mounting political flare-up following the twin sit-ins in the federal capital and massive showings by Imran Khan and Dr. Tahirul Qadri in different cities, Pakistan People's Party (PPP) is all set to show political muscle in the metropolis as all concerned preparations have been completed for a huge public gathering at Bagh-e-Jinnah adjacent to the mausoleum of the Quaid-e-Azam.

    Meantime, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah along with other party leaders visited the venue in today’s wee hours, in order to inspect the preparations of the rally meant to launch the scion of Bhutto-Zardari dynasty into practical politics. He went up the stage and reviewed the preparations. He also gave necessary directives to the workers. The chairs have been set inside and outside the venue at Bagh-e-Quaid and the sound system also has been readied to spice up the occasion with party songs. Keeping in view the security situation, the venue has been cordoned off with shipping containers. The PPP leaders claimed today’s showing will be historic. All roads leading to the venue have been sealed. Meantime, all the PPP workers and media personnel were shoved outside the venue for bomb disposal squad to thoroughly search and clear the area.
