  • Four citizens martyred in Indian firing along Working Boundary

At least four civilians, including two women, embraced martyrdom as Indian forces violated ceasefire along Working Boundary late Thursday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

“Indian BSF resorted to unprovoked firing of mortars, targeting civilian population along Working Boundary in village Bini Sulariyan in Charwa sector,” the military’s media wing said in a statement.

Pakistan Rangers Punjab, the ISPR added, befittingly responded on posts targeting civil population.

Ceasefire violations by Indian forces have been frequent since relations between the neighbouring countries worsened over unrest in Indian-held Kashmir and sentencing of Indian spy Kulbushan Jadhav.

According to the Foreign Office, in 2017 to date, Indian forces have carried out more than 700 ceasefire violations along the LoC and the Working Boundary, resulting in the death of over 30 civilians and injuries to more than 100.
