    At least 12 persons were killed and 40 injured in rain-related untoward incidents in parts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Saturday night.

    At least 12 persons lost their lives in roof-collapse incidents in difference cities of two provinces while dozens were left wounded.

    According to the details, a woman and a child among four lost their lives in Bahawalnagar while in one of its tehsils, Haroonabad, two children were trapped under debris of a cemented wall. Administration imposed state of an emergency in District Headquarters Hospital as another six were injured.

    Torrential rains in Faisalabad caused a roof to collapse claiming life of a woman named Shakeela Bibi while her husband was wounded. Another life was lost in Burewala while four injured as a wall collapsed.

    A woman and her 11-year-old son died while four-year-old injured in Tehsil Athara Hazari of Jhang District as lashing rains uprooted a tree that came down upon them.

    A debilitated wall collapsed in Chichawatni claiming life of a ten-year-old and leaving five women wounded. Stormy rains in Multan and Shujabad wounded 15 locals while six in Chishtian.

    Another life was lost in Swat as lightening struck in Malam Jabba.
