Three personnel of Rangers were martyred and two others were injured when terrorists opened fire on security forces conducting a search operation in Choti Zareen area here.
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistan Rangers (Punjab), Intelligence Agencies and Counter Terrorism Department undertook a joint operation against terrorists affiliated with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and their facilitators along with hardened criminals at a hideout in Basti Dadwani near Choti Zerin, 15 Km south of Dera Ghazi Khan on Friday morning.
Ten hardcore terrorists including Muhammad Asghar Dadwani alias Ustad Gorchani and Muhammad Naeem alias Waqas Dadwani in the exchange of fire.
Three Pakistan Rangers personnel Havaldar Asif, Sepoy Aftab and Sepoy Azizullah embraced martyrdom in the shootout while two other soldiers were also injured.
The wounded personnel were rushed to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Multan in a military helicopter.
“The operation is still continuing to flush the area of terrorists who were involved in heinous crimes, ransom and terrorist activities,” ISPR stated.
