Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif inaugurated latest modern Instrumental Landing System CAT III-B at Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore on Saturday.

Before the inauguration ceremony, a briefing was given to the Chief Minister regarding the functioning of the system.

After installation of this state-of-the-art system, there will be no more flight delays and diversions due to fog at Lahore airport.

According to Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), the system will facilitate aircraft landing in 50 meter visibility. Allama Iqbal International Airport has become second airport in South Asia to have this facility.

It may be mentioned here that hundreds of flights are affected every year in Lahore due to dense fog and there has been a longstanding demand to install the system.

After Lahore, the ILS CAT III-B will also be installed at the New Islamabad International Airport.
