    In an attempt to boost tourism, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif inaugurated on Wednesday a tourist double-decker bus service at the Punjab Stadium in Lahore.

    The chief minister visited the bus service terminal, and travelled in the double-decker by purchasing a ticket.

    The newly-introduced site-seeing bus service, which will give a detour of Lahore’s historical monuments, will operate from Qaddafi Stadium to Minar-e-Pakistan with proper security arrangements and trained staff.

    Talking to media, Shahbaz said the double-decker buses, which disappeared from the streets of Lahore and other cities of Punjab, was revived for the promotion of tourism.

    Free of charge service will be provided to senior citizens, children below the age of 10 and disabled persons, said the chief minister, adding students will be charged Rs100 while common citizens Rs200.

    Emphasising on the service’s utility, he said citizens of Lahore and other Punjab cities will have recreational tour of Lahore through the double-decker buses.
