Three suspects demanding extortion from the brother of Punjab’s Finance Minister Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman have on Saturday been arrested. The suspects reportedly belong to Lyari area of Karachi.
According to police sources, 3 suspects threatened Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman’s elder brother Asadur Rehman of kidnapping him and his family members if he failed to provide them Rs. 10 million.
Upon receiving information, SP CIA Umar Virk formed a team that traced the call and raided a place in Defence area to arrest the suspects along with the weapons.
Police sources told that the suspects belonged to Lyari area of Karachi and had come to Lahore for receiving extortion money.
