    Negotiations between blind people and the government on Wednesday were successful. The government has assured the blind people of employment in different colleges and universities.

    It guaranteed the issuance of letters of appointment as well. The blind people met with member National Assembly (NA) Mian Hamza Shahbaz and government officials in Chief Minister (CM) house.

    The blind people put forward their concerns calling for all contract blind employees to be made permanent. They also demanded that the jobless blinds be immediately employed on contractual basis.

    The blind people have expressed their satisfaction over the negotiations with government.

    Member of the government’s committee Saud Majeed said that all demands of the blind people will be accepted step by step. Majeed also stated that all jobless blind people will be employed in different colleges and universities on immediate basis.

    The blind people on this occasion stated that the government should follow through with its commitments soon enough so that they do not have to resort to protests again.

    The blind people finally convinced the government to give into their demands after 2 days of protest. The protests were held at Mall Road then Punjab Assembly and finally in Model Town.
