Police registered a case against Chaudhry Nadeem Khadim, a former MPA of ruling PML-N, for his alleged involvement in Sunday’s incident of firing on Pakistan Awami Tehreek workers in Jhelum town of Punjab, reported on Monday.

Ten PTI workers sustained bullet injuries when a procession of the party was fired upon in Gharmala village of Jhelum, close to the party’s large public gathering at Syed Zamir Hussain Jaffery Stadium. Police, yesterday, claimed to have arrested three persons allegedly involved in the attack. Both PML-N and PTI blamed each other for incitement of violence and attack.

Chaudhry Nadeem, while speaking yesterday, said that his guards fired shots after some PTI workers attacked his residence located in the village. On the other hand, PTI leader Ijaz Chaudhry claimed that the attack was carried out by PML-N supporters to prevent PTI workers from participating in the public gathering. Today, police said Chaudhry Nadeem and TMO Chaudhry Rashid have been nominated in the FIR, lodged in Sadar police station, for their involvement in the incident.
