Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) workers and supporters were found guilty of serious violations of the electoral code of conduct during the by-polls in PP-162, Narang Mandi on Thursday.

According to details, by-elections were held in the Punjab Assembly constituency, PP-162, Narang Mandi, district Sheikhupura, during which workers and supporters of the ruling PMLN violated all the laws, taking none of the instructions into account.

PMLN workers resorted to severe aerial firing in the constituency as an expression of their happiness over the victory of PMLN candidate, Hassan Riaz in the by-elections (according to the unofficial and unconfirmed results).

The workers of the ruling party fired hundreds of bullets in the air and displayed fireworks as they received the news that Riaz won the polls against independent candidate, Usman Nisar.

On this occasion, none of the officials of the local administration prevented the PMLN workers from violating the law, while the police also acted as a silent spectator.

Meanwhile, the Punjab CM, Shahbaz Sharif took notice of the matter and admonished the local administration and police.

He ordered for the arrest of all those involved in firing and directed the concerned officials to take an indiscriminate action in this regard.
