Parachinar visit: Hostile agencies trying to create sectarian rift, says Imran Parachinar visit: Hostile agencies trying to create sectarian rift, says Imran

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has said there is no sectarian rift among the people of Pakistan in general and the people of Kurram Agency in particular and that it is only the hostile agencies and conspirators who wish to disrupt peace and stability of the country.

“Those who are trying to create fissure among people on sectarian ground are not serving Islam. They are not even humans. They are the enemies of peace and stability,” Imran said on Friday.

The PTI chief was addressing the people protesting against the last week’s suicide bombings in Parachinar during his visit to the Kurram Agency. He said all political forces had supported demands of the protestors, adding that the PTI would stand by the people of Kurram Agency.

Imran said the K-P government would merge all seven agencies of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) with Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) despite opposition from certain quarters.

“However, we will not let it happen,” he said. Some political forces in the country always opposed the merger, he added in an oblique reference to the opposition to Fata’s merger with K-P by his rival, Jamait Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

Earlier, Imran was warmly welcomed by the families of the victims when he arrived at the protestors’ camp.
