    At least five militants were killed and two army men martyred on Wednesday during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) conducted by Frontier Corps in Orakzai Agency.

    A high-profile militant identified as Durran was also among those killed. Durran was involved in a number of terrorist activities and was sent from Afghanistan with the task to target a Nauroz procession in the agency and individuals who surrendered to security forces, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

    During the operation, Major Mudassar and Sepoy Mateehullah were martyred in the exchange of fire.

    Earlier this month, two Pakistan Army officials, including a captain, were martyred during an exchange of fire in the Malikabad area of Swabi.

    Security forces were conducting an IBO in the area when they came under attack, military’s media wing ISPR said in a statement. The deceased were identified as Captain Junaid and Sepoy Amjad.
