  • Three civilians injured as India resorts to unprovoked firing along LoC: ISPR

Indian troops on Thursday morning resorted to unprovoked firing at Battal, Jandrot and Hotspring sectors. Indian troops on Thursday morning resorted to unprovoked firing at Battal, Jandrot and Hotspring sectors.

Three civilians were injured as Indian troops resorted to unprovoked firing along the Line of Control on Thursday morning. The military’s media wing, Inter Services Public Relations, said Indian troops fired at Battal, Jandrot and Hotspring sectors. ISPR further said Pakistani troops effectively responded to Indian firing.

Kashmir has been a disputed region between Pakistan and India since independence from Britain in 1947. Two of three wars have been fought over the valley.

Meanwhile, sporadic cross-border attacks during the past months have frayed the 2003 truce. Pakistan has repeatedly lodged several protests with India over the unprovoked firing along the LoC that so far has resulted in the killing of several of its civilians.

On May 23, Pakistan Army also rubbished an Indian claim of destroying a Pakistani post along the Line of Control (LoC). “Indian claims of destroying Pakistani post along LoC in Naushera Sec and firing by Pakistan Army on civilians across LoC are false,” DG ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor had said on social media.
