    Younus Maqbool Ganai and another youth were killed by Indian troops during a siege and search operation at Hayatpora in Chadoora area of the district, yesterday.

    Eyewitnesses said that senior leader of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, led the funeral prayer, which was attended by around twenty thousand people including Hurriyet leaders, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Muhammad Ashraf Laiya and Muhammad Yasin Attai. Younus Ganai’s body was shrouded in Pakistani flag and was laid to rest at a graveyard in front of his residential house. Complete shutdown was observed in Patrigam, Hayatpora and adjoining areas to mourn the killing of the youth.

    APHC leaders, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai and Nayeem Ahmed Khan addressing the mourners said that the Kashmiri youth were scripting a new chapter of resistance by challenging a very big military power of the world that had occupied their motherland through sheer might.

    Meanwhile, the puppet authorities sealed the Hyderpora residence of the APHC Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, today, to prevent the launching ceremony of his book on great poet and philosopher, Allama Muhammad Iqbal. The 3rd volume of the book titled “Iqbal: Rohi Deen Ka Shinasa” was to be released, today, but the authorities laid a siege around the residence of Syed Ali Gilani by deploying Indian police and troops in strength and nobody was allowed to enter inside. A large number of people including the President of Kashmir High Court Bar Association, Mian Abdul Qayoom, intellectuals, Z G Muhammad and Abdul Majeed Zargar and Hurriyet leaders, Zamruda Habib, Raja Merajudin Kalwal, and others held a demonstration outside the house of Syed Ali Gilani
