“Democracy is to tolerate each other,” said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday who was attending the 53rd budget session of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Council along with his delegation.

Speaking to the participants of the council the premier said, “We cannot do much if anyone does not adhere to the Charter of Democracy (COD)” in a clear reference to the opposition parties.

“PML-N has received an ideal mandate, usually given by fate only to any political party,” he said.

President AJK Muhammad Masood Khan and Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider welcomed PM Sharif upon his arrival in the capital city of Muzaffarabad earlier today.

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Barjees Tahir, Commerce Minister Khurram Dastagir and Senator Pervaiz Rasheed also accompanied the premier.

During the session, the prime minister also administered the oath of the nine new elected members of the council.

PM Sharif was in Mianwali with Water and Power Minister Khawaja Asif and Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz on Wednesday in a bid to inaugurate Chashma- III nuclear power plant in the city, another milestone in Pak-China joint collaborations.

The 340-mega watt nuclear power plant is a joint collaboration of Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) and China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC), said a press release issued from the PM’s media wing.
