A 75-year-old woman was killed in unprovoked firing by Indian forces along the Line of Control (LoC) on Tuesday.

According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Indian forces targeted Kakuta village in Chirikot sector. Resultantly, a 75-year-old woman identified Mehmooda Begum lost her life in the incident.

“Indian bunkers engaged by Pakistani troops,” the ISPR added.

The ceasefire violation takes place two days after Indian BSF’s firing injured a 10-year-old boy Umar in Battal Sector of AJK.

Earlier on November 10, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited Line of Control (LOC) in Chirikot sector where they were briefed by General Officer Commanding on situation along LOC, Indian Cease Fire Violations (CFVs) targeting civilians and befitting response by Pakistan Army.

The prime minister condemned Indian unprofessional approach of targeting innocent civilians, stating that that Pakistan shall continue its political, diplomatic and moral support to Kashmiris for their just struggle.

While interacting with families of martyrs and Injured due to Indian shelling, PM Abbasi appreciated their determination and resolve. He announced enhancement in financial assistance to the affected families and approved funds to develop community protection bunkers for safety of civilian population.
