The main procession of Hazrat Imam Hussain’s chehlum concluded in Karachi, rawalpindi, lahore, multan, gilgit and all other cities on Friday after passing through its traditional route in the metropolis.
While the the chehlum procession commenced in karachi from Nishter Park at around noon following a majlis addressed by Allama Abbas Kumaili.
Stringent security arrangements were made by law enforcement agencies on the occasion.
The participants of the procession offered the namaz-i-Juma at Imambargah Ali Raza on MA Jinnah Road.
After passing through its traditional route, the procession concluded peacefully at Imambargah Hussainian Iranian in Kharadar in the evening.
A spokesman of the District Municipal Corporation (DMC) Karachi South said that elaborate arrangements were made for the provision of the required civic facilities to the participants as almost 90 percent of the main procession passed through its jurisdiction.
The representatives of the procession and majalis committees praised the administration, rangers, police and scouts for excellent arrangements.
Meanwhile, the Karachi police had deployed about 5,300 officers and personnel for the chehlum procession’s security.
