    Announcing a 35 percent increase in trade between the two countries during the past two years, the Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Mehdi Honardoost said. This work being done in spite of obstacles and problems such as the remaining effects of sanctions, including the inactivity of banking channels between the two countries, shows that there are huge capacities for the development of economic relations and trade exchanges in the future.

    In a meeting with Iranian media delegation that had traveled to Pakistan, Mehdi Honardoost while explaining the plans and actions of Iran to develop economic relations between the two countries said .

    The two-way official trade between Iran and Pakistan over the past year has risen to about 1 billion and 200 million Dollars. The bulk of this figure has come from the share of exports from Iran to Pakistan.

    He said the future of political relations, exchanges and economic cooperation between the two countries of Iran and Pakistan is very clear, and an increase in the value of trade exchanges between the two countries can be estimated upto $ 5 billion.

    Iranian ambassador to Pakistan, in another part of his remarks in the media panel, noted the will and joint emphasis of the two countries, reminding an increase in the volume of trade exchange worth $ 5 billion said.

    The efforts of two countries to fulfill the demands, the emphasis of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Prime Minister of Pakistan is continuing with full vigilance, and once the banking channels get activated, the speed of increased trade cooperation between the two countries will multiply.

    Honardoost stressed that the two sides are looking for an agreement on the road map to address the problems of banking interactions to facilitate the trade between the two countries, and removing this barrier is in the final stages, which we hope will soon be removed.
