An accountability court Wednesday issued bailable arrest warrants for Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in a reference filed against him by National Accountability Bureau (NAB). The reference against the Finance Minister is related to possession of assets beyond sources of income.
The minister did not appear in the hearing despite summons while NAB officials presented relevant documents to the court about his assets in Pakistan and abroad. The judge later issued bailable arrest warrants for Ishaq Dar on NAB’s request, directing him to furnish security bonds of Rs.1 million in the next hearing on Sept. 25.
The judge said non-bailable arrest warrants will be issued if the minister did not turn up to the court in the next hearing.
