Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry appealed to Supreme Court’s Justice Ijazul Ahsan, designated to monitor accountability court proceedings against Sharif family members, to take notice of their failure to show up before the trial court.

Speaking to media outside the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), the PTI spokesperson said that it was a matter of shame that the Sharif family was not appearing before the court.

He slammed National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor over his “irresponsible attitude” before the accountability court during the hearing of graft reference against Sharifs.

He said PML-N Senator Asif Kirmani feigned ignorance about the address of the Sharif’s London residence despite the fact that everyone knew their address. The prime minister and federal ministers had recently met former prime minister Nawaz Sharif in London.

Chaudhry said the senator should have been sent behind bars for speaking lie before the court.

He also called for day-to-day proceedings on the references against Sharif, his children and finance minister Ishaq Dar.

The PTI leader also blasted Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz and PML-N leaders for consistently criticizing state institutions.

Commenting on estranged PTI MNA Ayesha Gulalai, he said initially she had announced to part ways with the PTI leveling baseless allegations against PTI chief Imran Khan and later retracted. She was the biggest liar, he added.
