    Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will represent Pakistan at the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly begins at New York today.

    The Annual Session of the General Assembly has special significance because it is attended by a large number of Heads of State and Government.

    The theme of this year’s session is ‘Focusing on people; Striving for peace  and  decent life for all on a Sustainable Planet. The 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly begins at New York today.

    Prime Minister Abbasi will also meet the Secretary General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres and he will also hold bilateral meetings with a number of world leaders on the sidelines of the General Assembly Session.

    The Prime Minister will address the Council on Foreign Relations and will interact with the US Pakistan Business Council.

    The Prime Minister will also have extensive interaction with the international media.

    Meanwhile, talking to media in London who was on his way to New York the prime minister said that Pakistan wanted collaborative efforts to fight against terrorism.

    Prime Minister Abbasi further said that the National Security Committee had responded to the statement of US President Donald Trump and the very policy is being pursued by the government. He ruled out the impression of any political crisis in the country, saying that challenges continued to confront which were supposed to be countered.
