  • Panama case verdict ruled by Supreme Court to be fully implemented: NAB Chairman

    National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry stated that the investigation team made of NAB officers will fully implement the Supreme Court’s verdict in Panama case.

    While talking to media, he added that the society and state have to eradicate the menace of corruption with complete co-ordination. “NAB will complete the task of Panama case references within the prescribed time,” he told. NAB Chairman on Monday inaugurated the new headquarters of the investigation body in Islamabad.

    The top court had directed the investigation body to prepare references against Sharif family and Ishaq Dar after Panama case decision.

    NAB had summoned sacked premier Nawaz Sharif, his children and Ishaq Dar but none of them appeared before the body reasoning that they have submitted review appeals in Supreme Court and will not appear before NAB until verdict in given on them.

    Meanwhile, NAB has summoned two members of Panama Joint Investigation Team (JIT) over references against Sharif family. According to details, NAB will record statements of JIT head Wajid Zia and another member as official witnesses on August 30 (Wednesday).
