    Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal called Trump s remarks against Pakistan ‘disappointing’, adding that no country has greater stake in peace in Afghanistan than Pakistan.

    He met the Japanese Ambassador Takashi Kurai in Islamabad on Thursday.

    While talking to Kurai, Iqbal said that Pakistan and Japan have strong trade relations. “Pakistan collaborated with the international community for the establishment of peace in the region,” he said. Iqbal said that no country has greater stake in Afghanistan s peace than Pakistan.

    “We are cooperating with Japanese traders for smooth acquisition of visas,” Iqbal said. He said that both countries should cooperate for peace and progress. “Pakistan has given innumerable sacrifices to maintain stability in the region,” he stated.

    Iqbal further said that Pakistan and Japan continue to coordinate in different departments, and wished for cordial relations with neighbouring countries.

    Japanese ambassador praised the efforts and sacrifices of law enforcement agencies for establishment of peace in Pakistan. Iqbal said that Islamabad police is committed to follow the standards set by Tokyo police.
