The opposition leader in National Assembly Khursheed Shah has written a letter to Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and conveyed his apprehensions over the major difference in Petrol buy and sell prices.
In his letter, he told the PM Abbasi that as per public accounts committee findings the petrol and diesel being bought at Rs 30 to 35 but actually it is being sold between Rs 70 to 80 per liter.
“The cruel taxes and levees are the reasons behind the such big difference in petrol prices,” he told to PM.
Shah also mentioned that 70 percent of the consumers linked to lower segment of the society. He asked that why they were being compelled to bear such heavy burden.
He demanded government should take immediate steps to correct tax system to minimize the direct taxes so that people could get relief.
