Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi

Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has claimed in the latest interview that Pakistan would overcome energy crisis in November 2017 as there no longer would be power outages across the country.

PM Abbasi said that Chaudhry Nisar is not part of the cabinet but he should be considered as one as he supported him as the candidate for Prime Minister and their terms go back 30 years.

While talking about criticism on his LNG deal, the premier said that the fuel was incorporated in the system within 20 months and that Qatar deal was the most cost-effective deal for Pakistan.

While talking about foreign relations, Abbasi said that former premier Nawaz Sharif served as an effective foreign minister with his 30-year experience in the federal government.

The premier said that Pakistan’s terms with Russia have bettered and reasonable ties with India are in favour of Pakistan.

PM Abbasi said that his candidature for the premiership was proposed by Nawaz Sharif.

He said that ousted Nawaz does not hold the office now but his policies are going on as they were.

While talking about the GT Road power show scheduled for July 9 (Wednesday), PM Abbasi said that it was not a protest but the former premier is travelling to his residence and the party workers want to express their solidarity with their leadership.

He further said that Article 62 (1F) could be amended if all the parliamentary parties agree for the cause.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was elected Prime Minister of Pakistan after he won voting in National Assembly (NA) on August 1st by 224 votes.
He was then administered oath by President Mamnoon Hussain at Aiwan-e-Iqbal.

Contrary to the initial decision of PML-N, Abbasi is to serve as the leader of the House for the rest of the party term which is to expire mid 2018.

It was suggested initially that Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shehbaz Sharif will contest NA-120 elections and take over the premiership after 45 days of Abbasi’s interim service.
