A petition was filed against the prospective Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in Supreme Court’s Lahore Registry here on Monday.
One, Mahmood Akhtar Naqvi, has moved to the apex court challenging the qualification of PML-N prime ministerial candidate.’
The petitioner has stated that corruption references were pending in Nation Accountability Bureau (NAB).
He further said that corruption scandal in LNG import was also under investigation at NAB against Abbasi.
He prayed the court to restrain Abbasi from contesting the election of Prime Minister.
It is to be mentioned here that PML-N has nominated Abbasi as successor of Nawaz Sharif as Prime Minister of Pakistan for the interim period during which Shahbaz Sharif will contest by-election on NA-120 seat to replace him.
