Presenting the financial records to prove the money trail of the London flat, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Sunday dispelled an impression of a correlation existing between his London apartment and Sharif family’s case in the Supreme Court.
Addressing a media conference, the PTI chairman said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is indulged in giving an impression of similarity existing between two cases by design with help of his allies.“With an intention to bring these issues in notice of the masses, I have to clear the misconception as people are being misled,” he asserted.

Khan said that his case is entirely different in nature than Panama Papers case. “Being a public figure, I receive donations for charity projects as the masses have their confidence in me,” he added.
Khan said that the premier has been facing perjury, money laundering, forgery, and corruption charges. “My case is simple and I have submitted all documents in the Supreme Court to prove money trail for the London flat,” he remarked.

Exhibiting documents, Khan said that an impression is being created in the media that he has been failed to submit money trail for London flat before the top court. “I have submitted all documents in the top court including bank accounts details of Jemima,” he added.

“Sharif family could not divulge the sources of their income but I earned money for playing cricket for Kerry Packer from 1977 to 1979 and also for Sussex from 1977 to 1988,” Khan said.
Coming down hard on Sharif family, Khan said: “Sharif family owns five flats in the posh areas of London. My entire investment is in Pakistan while Nawaz Sharif’s children have billions in their foreign accounts.”
He further said that his London flat was bought against Rs6 million back in 1983 from income that he earned through playing cricket for English counties.
He also lashed out at Chief Editor of Jang Group of Newspapers Mir Shakil-ur-Rehman for publishing fallacious reports. “These documents are not Qatari Letters,” he said while rubbishing The News story published today (Sunday) with a title ‘Imran submits ‘Qatari’ letter to SC’.

In reply to a question, Khan said that Defence Minister Khawaja Asif is attacking the country’s biggest free cancer hospital to conceal his corrupt practices, adding that the defence minister could take him to court if he has concrete evidences against him and Shaukat Khanum Hospital’s accounts.

“He should be ashamed of himself for levelling baseless allegations,” he added.
Moreover, he said that the Supreme Court of Pakistan will soon announce its verdict in the Panama Papers case.

“The country will soon come out of this dark night with the foundation of a ‘Naya Pakistan’ when the Sharifs will be sent to Adiala Jail,” he said.
It is to be mentioned here that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)’s leader Hanif Abbasi on May 3 filed a petition in the apex court, seeking disqualification of PTI chairman Imran Khan and another party leader Jahangir Tareen for tax evasion and concealing money sources.

Petitioner Hanif Abbasi had alleged PTI chairman Imran Khan as party to an international conspiracy against Pakistan to slow down the development pace in the country, which he believed had gained momentum in current tenure of the ruling party.
The petition is being heard by a three-member bench comprising Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nasir, Justice Umar Ata Bandial and Justice Faisal Arab.
