  • Record neither tempered with nor kept from JIT: Chairman FBR

Chairman of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has asserted in a media talk on Friday that Panamagate Joint Investigation Team (JIT) was provided all the record there was concerning assets of the premier’s family and no content was tempered with or concealed.

FBR chief channeled his frustration over allegations of the probe team while talking to the media in the federal capital today and remarked that the allegations were beyond his comprehension.

Dr Irshad observed that copies of the record demanded by the JIT are there with National Accountability Bureau (NAB), courts, lawyers among other departments and thus it was impossible that it could be tempered with.

He further claimed that supremacy of the law and implementation of orders of the courts were always ensured by him all through his career.

JIT chief, Wajid Zia of FIA had earlier pleaded before the top court that institutions were not cooperating in the probe against the premier.

NAB and SECP had presented explanations before the court following the allegations leveled by JIT.
