Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has directed the relevant authorities to ensure that no electricity load-shedding is carried out on Sunday during the Pakistan-India Champions Trophy final.

Responding to the premier’s order, the Water and Power Ministry summoned the supply and demand figures from all the power distribution companies, and assured the prime minister that no load-shedding would take place during the cricket match.

Similarly, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah contacted senior officials at K-Electric, the port city’s sole power company, and directed them to ensure no load-shedding is carried out during the match. Shah said power to residential areas should be supplied on a preferential basis.

The chief minister hoped the Pakistan cricket team would win the match as a gift to the nation on Eidul Fitr.
