Faithful observed Shab-e-Barat, the night of reverence and fervour and divine blessings for the Muslims, on night between Thursday and Friday.

According to Islamic lunar calendar, the 15th night of the month of Shabaan is known as Lailatul Barat or Laylatun Nisfe-min-Shaban in the Arab world.

Special gatherings were held in mosques (Masjid) where the faithful worshipped and prayed for forgiveness‚ salvation‚ and progress and prosperity of the country.

Ulema and religious scholars in their sermons highlighted the true teachings of Islam and various aspects of the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

The houses, streets and especially mosques were decorated with colourful lights and buntings.
