Prominent religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel was offloaded from a Canada-bound flight at Dubai airport.
Maulana Jameel was bound to travel to Toronto on Emirates flight EK-241 with former Pakistan star all-rounder Shahid Afridi to raise funds for Shahid Afridi Foundation.
According to media reports, Afridi said security officials were directed by the airline to offload Jameel over security clearance issues.
Making strides in the field of philanthropy, Shahid Afridi Foundation last year, won 3G Critics’ Choice Best Upcoming Charity of the Year 2016 on Thursday at the Global Good Governance awards in Istanbul.
