Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Saturday supported Senate Chairman Mian Raza Rabbani over his decision to quit office of Senate chairmanship.

In a message to the Senate Chairman, the duo said, “The PPP stands by you as your viewpoint is right.”

Zardari called upon Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to personally talk to Raza Rabbani and address his reservations.

Zardari buoyed up Rabbani, saying, “Other political parties also stand side by side with you on your principled stance.”

Disgruntled Raza Rabbani has threatened to resign as Senate Chairman and also returned official protocol. He also cancelled his Iran tour scheduled for tomorrow.

The members from treasury benches failed to bring him round as he said, “I failed in restoring the sanctity of the house.”
