  • PN warships conduct exercises with Lankan Navy

    Two warships from the Pakistan Navy (PN), PNS Nasr and PNS Saif, made a port visit to Sri Lanka’s Colombo port during their overseas deployment to South East Asian countries, said a statement by the Pakistan Navy.

    The PN flotilla conducted exercises with Sri Lankan warships in the Indian Ocean for enhancing interoperability and operational coordination between the two navies, added the statement.

    The ships were received by Sri Lankan Navy’s Commander Operations and the defence attaché of Pakistan to Sri Lanka. A large number of Sri Lankan navy officers were also present on the occasion.

    The mission commander and the commanding officers of the PN ships also met the Chief of Staff Sri Lankan Navy Admiral SS Ranasinghe.

    Ranasinghe recently visited Pakistan to witness the multinational naval exercise Aman 17 which was hosted by the PN.

    “It is expected that recent visit by PN Ships to Sri Lanka will further strengthen bilateral relations and naval collaboration between both the navies,” said the navy’s statement.
