  • Pakistan embassy hosts Quaid-i-Azam Apparel Park Project roadshow in China

Pakistan hosted a roadshow in China for Quaid-i-Azam Apparel Park Project (QAAP), a flagship project of the Punjab government, reported People's Daily Online. Representatives of 76 Chinese companies participated in the show, hosted by the Embassy of Pakistan.

Ambassador Masood Khalid urged the Chinese entrepreneurs to explore the untapped commercial and business potential of Pakistan due to availability of cheap raw materials and manpower.

He said that the project was pivotal as textile sector is the main segment of business development and Pakistan’s economy. He informed the show that Pakistan’s recent economic performance has been lauded by world financial institutions and credit rating agencies.

He said that the government has also taken special measures to provide security to about 19,000 Chinese nationals working in Pakistan on different projects.

The envoy highlighted the geographical importance of Pakistan as being on the confluence of Middle East, South Asia and Central Asia, which has been further enhanced due to CPEC and promoted connectivity.

Shahzad Sheikh, Project Director of QAAP, said that ideal location along with availability of all necessary amenities will lead to the success of this project. The garments produced here will be exported the world over, adding billions to the country’s GDP.

A question answer and networking session between the project representatives and Chinese companies was held, followed by lunch.
