    Great Britain is committed to work with Pakistan in security related matters and strengthening democracy.

    British Prime Minister Theresa May and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif held telephonic conversation today (Tuesday).

    Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif extended his warmest congratulations to the British Prime Minister on her historic appointment as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

    The Prime Minister said that Theresa May's appointment reflects the faith and the confidence that the people of UK have reposed in her ability to steer the country at this historic time.

    Nawaz Sharif expressed his confidence that under her leadership and vision, Britain will become ever stronger and continue playing important role in world affairs.

    He said that the government and the people of Pakistan greatly value her long association with Pakistan.

    The Prime Minister assured the British Prime Minister of his support to work closely with her in achieving close bilateral relations in all fields.

    The Prime Minister of Britain Theresa May thanked the Prime Minister for his kind words and said that Pakistan is our dependable ally.

    She assured the Prime Minister that both the countries will work together in the post Brexit era and there will be no adverse effects on the bilateral relations after Great Britain exits the EU.

    She said that Pakistan and the United Kingdom will work together as bilateral partners. Great Britain is committed to work with Pakistan in security related matters and strengthening democracy.

    The British Prime Minister said that the United Kingdom strongly supports the democratic system of Pakistan; development of Pakistan and development of democracy are interlinked.

    Theresa May said that she is eagerly waiting for her upcoming visit to Pakistan in coming months in the capacity of the British Prime Minister.
