Electioneering for the first ever local government elections in the federal capital would end tonight at 12 am.

The candidates are making last-ditch efforts and carrying out door-to-door canvassing to convince the voters in their favor.

The capital territory has been divided into 50 Union Councils (UCs) and 640 polling stations have been set up at 326 buildings, of which 62 buildings have been declared the most sensitive.

At least 7,752 policemen including 3,720 personnel of Islamabad police would perform their duties on the polling day.

12400 candidates are vying for the seats of chairman, vice chairman and councillors.

Meanwhile, Election Commission of Pakistan has completed all arrangements in connection with the polls to be held on Monday.
