    Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Raheel Sharif today held an important meeting with Britain’s Permanent Home Secretary Theresa May during which he urged UK to check international funding and communication of terrorists, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

    Gen Sharif during his meetings with British authorities urged UK to play role in checking international financing and communication of terrorists.

    Earlier in his address at Royal United Services Institute (RUSI), he said that Pakistan’s security environment now becoming conducive for upward economic trajectory.

    He vowed to continue the process towards bringing total security.

    “While we continue to support enduring and permanent peace in Afghanistan, lets all beware of detractors and spoilers,” he pointed, adding, “Reconciliation is a way forward and everyone should support it.”

    “We have brotherly and blood ties with the people of Afghanistan,” he asserted. “However, border management and international cooperation is a must for regional peace, while the propaganda against Pakistan must end.”

     

    Gen Sharif said: Indian intransigence, ceasefire violations at the Line of Control (LoC) and indirect strategy against Pakistan are negatively affecting the region.

    Reiterating Kashmir as unfinished agenda of partition, the COAS said the world must help in resolving Kashmir Issue if it wants genuine peace in region.
