    Talks between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko are under way in Islamabad.

    They are discussing bilateral relations and way and means to broaden cooperation in different fields.
    The Prime Minister extended condolences to the visiting president over the death of his mother a couple of days back.
    Nawaz Sharif said Pakistan is keen to forge closer ties with Belarus in all fields including trade, economy, defense and culture.
    He expressed the confidence that the visit will act as a catalyst in developing strong political and economic relations between the two countries.
    The two sides are also expected to sign a number of MoUs and agreements after the talks.
    A formal welcome ceremony in honor of visiting President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko was held at the Prime Minister House in Islamabad today.
    On the occasion, the anthems of both the countries were played.
    A smartly turned out contingent of the armed forces presented guard of honor to the visiting dignitary.
    Earlier on arrival at the PM house, he was received by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
    Later, the Prime Minister introduced cabinet members to the Belarusian president.
