Senate of Pakistan Senate of Pakistan

As many as 131 candidates will vie for 48 seats of Senate today, as pre-poll political heat and hassle reached its pinnacle amid reports of horse-trading and a frenzied counter-bargain narrative.

Laced up to the hilt with maneuvers, political parties have given final touches to their seemingly definitive plans to seal a most coveted win in the senate.

There are 27 contestants from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for 12 Senate seats. Also, 32 competitors from Balochistan are eyeing to grab 12 seats.

Sindh and Punjab are apparently placid in connection with the political manipulations. Fully collected and equanimous is the coalition of PPP and MQM in Sindh; whereas, the roars of lion have silenced all others in Punjab.

Fata boasts of the longest train of rivals i.e. 36 contending for a meager four seats. Eight campaigners will hit the arena of Islamabad today aiming for two seats.

As regards the color of ballot papers, white color has been picked for ballots of general seats. Ballots have been tinged in pink for women seats. Whereas, light green color has been fixed for the seats of technocrats and ulema.

The ballot papers for minority seats will have yellowish shade.
