Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday blamed rulers of the Muslim world for the publication of blasphemous caricatures on French magazine, saying that Muslim leaders should haveplayed a role against the publications.

Addressing Ulema Mashaikh Conference, Khan said that our clerics did not play the role that they should have, adding that the clerics should have taken a stand against oppression long ago.

He said “we have to confront oppressors by breaking away the idols of fear” and that Muslims cannot succeed if they don’t control their fear. Khan said that Hindu girls are being forcefully converted to Islam when no one can be forced to convert.

He said it is the duty of the clerics to convey the right teachings of Islam to the public.

“What kind of Islam permits killing people after offloading them from buses?” he asked.

PTI chief said that Islam is spreading rapidly in Europe and that the publication of blasphemous caricatures was done to provoke Muslims. He said a small section of society is looting the whole country, adding that he has seen clerics being “sold off” against a price.

Khan said that there’s a Maulana who conveniently fits right in with those who are looting the country, adding that a truebeliever can never be bought.
